I am focused on Botanical impressions seeking to reveal our interconnectedness with the natural world.
Through an alchemy that results in beautiful hues and images, the essence of the plant is transferred to natural fibers. We use mainly
the leaves, but also flowers, roots and the decomposing barks of tree trunks that are transferred to natural fibers. Through these sustainable processes, we find new possibilities for exploring the shapes and colors of various plant species. The commitment is to preserve the environment and use materials available in nature.
This is a space where I bring my Art & Yoga together. They share a common thread, the concept of the classic elements of earth, water, fire, air and space, ancient yogic texts say that all things in our world are made from a combination of those classic elements. What fluctuates is their blend and environment.
These concepts are continually present in my work; linked and experienced through the senses and emotions, oscillating in their presence, dominance or deficiency, their ebb and flow.
